A side note of the making and unmaking of smart city

The project aims to understand the relationality of distance and proximity, visibility and invisibility between a village and a futurist city-making project in Kenya. Through an experiential and sensorial approach to qualities of movements, socialization, laboring, and leisure in a seemingly liminal space, it explores how the village becomes an incompatible supplement as well as the transformative potentiality of the making of spectacular urbanism. To this end, it aims to combine sounds, images, and texts as multimedia sidenotes of the ongoing making and unmaking of the modernist city in Africa.
