Timothy Byram
Timothy Byram is a PhD candidate in the History of Christianity, with a secondary concentration in Romance Languages and Literatures. Combining historical and ethnographic methods, his work is broadly interested in the contemporary interfaces of ritual, political, and cultural economies in Brazil and the Hispanic Caribbean. In addition to the Harvard Mellon Urban Initiative, Timothy is an affiliated student with the Afro-Latin American Research Institute. He is the recipient of the Fulbright-Hays grant, which he will use to complete his dissertation on public religion and political controversy in Brazil.
