Maya Shopova is an architect and co-founder of Collective Home Office, a collaborative architectural practice that emerged from her graduate thesis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to her Master's degree, she received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from McGill University and worked as an architect at diverse design practices in North America and Europe, including Bjarke Ingels Group in New York and Strelka KB in Moscow. Her research focuses on housing, historical preservation, as well as collaboration and authorship within architectural practice and design pedagogy. Maya has been a guest critic at Rhode Island School of Design, Columbia GSAPP, University of Toronto, and as part of a teaching fellowship award, she has taught and co-taught several design studios and workshops at the MIT School of Architecture and Planning. She is currently a lecturer at McGill University School of Architecture.
