Jordan Cannon entered GSAS’s joint History & Middle Eastern Studies PhD program in 2020. She is interested in Ottoman and Turkish social, cultural, urban, and architectural history. In particular, she studies fires in early modern Istanbul and how they impacted the city’s social fabric. She holds a BA in History and Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies from Columbia University.
