John is a first-year at Harvard College studying History of Art and Architecture with a secondary in Economics. While taking classes about the prison-industrial complex and built environment in post-WWII America, he learned about prison gerrymandering. Combining this knowledge with his interests in the methodology of city planning and political activism, John sought out a way that he could help bring awareness to the issue. He decided to focus the work in his home state, Massachusetts, where he has lived in the town of Needham his entire life.
