*Latinizing Cities and the Origins of Political Xenophobia in Deindustrializing America*

 Speaker: Professor [Andrew Sandoval Strausz](https://history.la.psu.edu/directory/a-k-sandoval-strausz/)

 Discussant: Professor [Lizabeth Cohen](mailto:cohen3@g.harvard.edu)

As our planet becomes increasingly urban, this series seeks to expand our understanding of cities and urbanization across sites and scales. The **Urban Conversations** aim in particular to link humanistic approaches with spatial investigations. We host public talks, and provide a venue for researchers to share works-in-progress with an interdisciplinary community, in a conversational format. Chaired by [Bruno Carvalho](/people/bruno-carvalho) and [Daniel Agbiboa.](/people/daniel-agbiboa)

Co-sponsored with the [Mahindra Humanities Center at Harvard University](https://mahindrahumanities.fas.harvard.edu/urban-conversations).
