Silvia Danielak

Silvia Danielak is currently an MDes Risk and Resilience student at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Prior to coming to the GSD, she worked for more than five years in international peace building across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, most lately serving as conflict prevention advisor in support of the African Union Border Programme.

A trained mediator, Silvia holds a Master’s degree in security studies from the Institute for Political Studies in Paris (Sciences Po Paris) and a BA from Maastricht University. As the GSD, she studies the interplay of conflict and architecture, and the spatial dimensions of humanitarian interventions, displacement and post-conflict reconstruction in an attempt to bring spatial considerations closer to the center of peace building and conflict management practices.
